Meet Ashlyn Ashlyn, founder of The Village, is a licensed educator with three degrees and over a dozen years of experience in the field. Having worked with students in pre-k-8, she has a wide range of experiences and understanding of what it’s like to be in the unique setting that is each grade level. With a background in PBIS and authoritative teaching, Ashlyn quickly realized that neither of these things leads to actual internal behavioral change in our students, and wanted to find out what would make that change. Fast forward a few years, multiple courses and an entire degree later, Ashlyn stands behind the principles of conscious classroom management which is a blend of conscious parenting techniques, responsive classroom, trauma informed practice, and need-meeting. With this technique, Ashlyn has personally seen the ways that this technique can transform a classroom dynamic and learning outcomes.
